The alignment system serves as a major element in determining your standing status (whether red or not). The basic idea is that the killing of somebody of your own race would diminish the alignment while the killing of neutral monsters or enemies would enhance it. A negative strike takes much more value than that of a positive one, so in order to balance the effects of one single positive kill, you may need to kill several enemies. If you hit another player, you would be marked as a rogue for a couple of minutes, during which your mates can kill you as a way of self-defense. Your alignment would be displayed together with your mana, stamina, and life.
A bad alignment would bring you into danger. Other than becoming obviously target that can be attacked by everyone in the game, you would also be refused and struck by the guard towers when returning your own racial town.
However the alignment gets some shortcomings. Beginners can easily mark other players as rogue by intentionally running into the attacking range of them. This may lead your life become a source of capital for your friendly players. This means that in a team battle situation, you must be very cautious about the surroundings.
