DarkFall Online Faction System

Like many MMOs, Darkfall Online has a faction system. That means that shop keepers, guards, of a certain race or kingdom will regard you according to your behavior either for or against that race or kingdom. Each race or kingdom is an independent faction, through some are allies to each other. Players often refer to their current faction standing with a certain faction as their ‘alignment’.
Killing allies reduces faction, and killing enemies improves it. (This includes killing players!) The value of a negative event is higher than that of a positive one. The effects of a single friendly kill can be negated by killing several enemies. If you only hit another player (not kill), will be rogue flagged for a short period of time, in which case you can be attacked by friendly targets as a means of self-defense.
Your alignment is shown at the bottom meter in the window in which displays your life, stamina and mana. There are some consequences for being ‘red’ and having a bad alignment. Apart from being a target to everyone in the game, you will not be welcomed by your own racial town, and what is worse, the guard towns will also attack you on sight.
You are no long able to enjoy the same rights others can. For example you are not allowed to bind at the same bindstone as normal players. This is reasonable because since the bingstones are in town, you would be attacked immediately. Upon going red, you will be automatically bound to remote bindstones in the wilderness where there is little in the ways of merchants and banks in many cases.
