The World

The setting of the game is very beautiful, with the sky being blue and high, sometimes strewed with white clouds, and the trees swaying in the breeze displaying every branch clearly. The graphics may be not so refined, but it features a world stretching endlessly with no seams, and there are no loading screens. It feels very good. The map seems medium sized, but it may take a couple of minutes of move from one point to another neighbouring one on the map. So travelling from one starter city to a neighbouring one may take up to 30 minutes. It is perhaps a little bigger than Asheron’s Call.
There are plenty of interesting and hidden spots dotted around the world which will appeal to the explore-lovers. Fortresses on mountain top, treasure boxes hidden, giant tree top villages, and underground cities, to name a few. Because in Darkfall there are no levels, monsters are generally grinded to gain items, gold and materials.
